In May of 1998 when we purchased Arrowhead Resort we did not plan to be in the restaurant business. The building was under lease at that time and we were content with that. The week before we closed on the property that plan was changed for us when the lessee called it quits. We jumped in and learned what hard work was all about. That turn of events has led us to wonderful friendships, made us a part of weddings, birthdays, and even funerals. We cherish each and every one of our connections with the communities in both Hill and Bosque Counties, made through our time spent feeding you on Friday and Saturday nights. We have laughed with you, shared tears with you, and loved every minute of our time together. Our daughter, Alyssa, grew up with all of you watching. Remember the muffin girl? We appreciate it now every time one of you asks how she is doing. She is loving life as a horse trainer in San Angelo.
We hope you have enjoyed your time with us as much as we have enjoyed serving you. We are wiser and better people for having known all of you, but we also have realized that we are older and more tired. Because of that we have come to the difficult decision that we should focus our efforts on our primary business of renting cabins, which is what brought us here in the first place. Having had the pleasure of serving you was an unexpected gift and we thank you for it.
We owe a special debt of gratitude to the people who became our family working with us over the years. Their hard work and friendship has enriched our lives beyond words.
Saturday September 21, 2013 was the last night for the restaurant to be open. The gift shop will continue to operate and our dining room will be available to rent for parties and events.
Thank you again.
